DeSander Vessels

The Krebs Close Packed system is designed to uniformly distribute the feed and collect the overflow and underflow products from the hydrocyclones as required for the application. The system includes a single vessel that has one feed inlet, overflow and underflow outlet. The hydrocyclones are closely packed inside the three chamber vessel with stainless steel plates separating the overflow and underflow from the feed chamber. Hydrocyclones range in size from ½" in diameter to 3" in diameter.

The vessel size is determined by the total flow rate required for the application. Hydrocyclone size is then determined by the separation required for the application. With this information the exact vessel size and geometry can be easily determined.

Standard materials of construction for the vessels are carbon steel and stainless steel. The vessel’s can also be designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures, and be certified per ASME requirements or specific customer specifications.

Close packed manifolds are designed with flanged connections, and have a removable cover for inspection and/ or maintenance. An isolation valves can be provided at the inlet to allow isolation of the vessel for internal inspection. Discharge of the underflow steam can be controlled, with an automatic valve, to purge the solids, as required.

The close packed hydrocyclone vessel can be designed with an open underflow. The open underflow design allows for easy visual inspection and includes a sloped underflow launder directly attached to the vessel to allow solids to discharge.

The vessel can be designed with two types of mounting configuration. The first is a mounting lug design that is attached to the vessel shell. This is the most compact configuration and requires minimal space requirements. The second design is a vertical or horizontal support saddle.

Assembly tools are provided for easy installation or removal of the hydrocyclones.

Close Packed Vessels are shipped fully factory assembled. Field assembly will require piping the feed, overflow and underflow connections. Also, the vessel must be properly supported. Detailed assembly drawings and bolts lists are provided. Each vessel is quality checked prior to shipping to ensure all components meet Krebs' established standards.
