 Plastics Recycling
The process of sorting materials by specific gravity can be used to classify different types of plastics, metals and other particulates suspended in the same slurry. Plastic soda bottles, which are constructed of two different kinds of materials (PE polyethylene and PET polyethylene terephthalate), and junked autos, which contain metal, plastics, and other materials can be classified by specific gravity using a separator-based system after shredding.
